Soundflower is a Mac OS X audio plug-in that allows you to record high-quality system audio from any application, including Smart Recorder. You have to use the most recent version, 2.0b2, and curiously the installer says it 'failed', but in fact the extension is installed in /Library/Extensions, and upon restart everything is working fine. The other day, there was a red light shining or blinking (I dont remember) from out of the audio jack when it was closed and charging. Soundflower provides additional audio outputs and inputs, allowing you to reroute audio output from one application as input to another. The speakers also make a very quiet popping sound, only hearable when right up next to them, It doesnt change when volume is changed. I checked the Microphone input for the built in mic and it shows full bars, telling me its always picking up sound, which it is not. But when I went to try an audio test, they quit again. Recently I installed windows with the same result with the audio.īut when I turned it on and went into windows, the youtube video I had up last night was playing through my speakers. ![]() The speakers didnt work, 3.5mm jack didnt work and when I went into the audio settings, there was no devices shown. After I did that, the macbook shut down and when I booted it back up, it had no audio.
